LAMP LIFE MONITORING WITH SWITCHING FUNCTION OPERATING TIME COUNTER - OTC2
The OTC 2 evaluation unit monitors the service life by summing up the operating hours of the UV lamp. The service life status is indicated by LEDs. Each LED is additionally represented by a potential-free contact, designed as a changeover contact. These contacts can be used for external signaling or for switching operations.
Technical Data
Power supply: | 230 V AC (110 V AC, 24 V DC or 12 V DC possible) |
Special function | Counter can be reset after lamp replacement |
Display | |
Continuous light (green LED) | at < 95% of the guaranteed lifetime of the guaranteed lifetime |
Pre-alarm (yellow LED) | at > 95% of the guaranteed lifetime of the guaranteed lifetime |
Main alarm (red LED) | Guaranteed lifetime is exceeded |
Additional function | Potential-free contact for each LED implemented as a changeover switch 100 mA |
The OTC variant works as a normal operating hours counter. After the operating voltage is applied, the internal counter starts to work. However, the so-called "startup" procedure is carried out first. The red, yellow and green LEDs light up one after the other for 1 second. This serves to check the function of the LEDs. The counter can also be reset by interrupting the procedure. The "Startup" procedure must be interrupted twice in succession by switching off the OTC during the yellow phase. The counter is reset the next time it is switched on. The reset is confirmed by the green LED flashing once. The green LED must then light up. The counter is reset. Two time thresholds (tgelb and trot) can be stored in the non-volatile memory area (EEProm) of the device. If the current time t < tgelb, the green LED lights up. If the current time exceeds this threshold, the yellow LED is activated. If the second threshold is exceeded (>10,000 h), the red LED is activated.
