PURION® GmbH has developed a new lamp with a dual function. The lamp, available under the name AIRPURION Duo 90/39 hum X, is used for disinfecting room air by upward UVC radiation and at the same time for room lighting with natural, vitalizing light, generated by a special lamp with ultraviolet and infrared components in addition to the visible spectrum.
This stimulates vitamin D3 synthesis in particular.
Microorganisms floating freely in the air are reached by the UV rays, while conventional disinfectants fail to disinfect the air or cannot be used at all. Air disinfection considerably reduces the overall germ level in the room, as natural air circulation of all air layers leads to the radiation range of the lamp.
The positive influence of natural sunlight on the physical and mental functions of the human body is undisputed. People are spending more and more time in rooms with artificial light. The resulting lack of sunlight manifests itself in headaches, lack of concentration, tiredness, deteriorating eyesight, weakening of the immune system and even depression.
