At the 2nd "Berlin WideBaSe' Conference on Technology and Applications of Nitride Semiconductors", PURION gave an overview of the status quo of applied research on decentralized water disinfection with UV LEDs.
It became clear that considerable efforts are still required before competitive systems with UV LEDs for water disinfection can be produced. However, it also became clear that essential foundations have been laid and that the new technology has great potential to overcome the disadvantages of current UV lamps.
