UVC INTENSITY MONITORING WITH SWITCHING FUNCTION OPERATING POWER DETECTION - OPD 2
The OPD 2 evaluation unit monitors the service life based on the UVC yield. The service life status is indicated by LEDs. Each LED is additionally represented by a potential-free contact, designed as a changeover contact. These contacts can be used for external signaling or for switching operations.

In this variant, the light output is measured directly using a sensor. After the operating voltage is applied, the device begins to determine the sensor values cyclically. However, the so-called "startup" procedure is carried out first. The red, yellow and green LEDs light up one after the other for 1 second. This serves to check the function of the LEDs. In addition, the device can be referenced to the current sensor measured value by deliberately interrupting the procedure. The "Startup" procedure must be interrupted twice in succession by switching off the OPD during the yellow phase. The next time the device is switched on, the current sensor value (light output) is stored in the EEProm as a non-volatile reference value (100%). Referencing is confirmed by the green LED flashing once. The green LED must then light up. The system is now referenced. Two thresholds (Pgelb/P100% in % and Prot/P100% in %) can also be stored in the device's EEProm. If the current sensor measured value is P > P yellow, the green LED lights up. If the current measured value falls below this threshold, the yellow LED is activated. If the value falls below the second threshold Prot, the red LED lights up. If no measured value can be determined, the red LED flashes, signaling an error in the device. The reasons for this may be: No sensor connected, sensor defective, cable break or short circuit, measuring amplifier of the device defective. If the green LED flashes, the measuring amplifier is overloaded or defective. A faulty display may occur.
